The ICAO EUR/NAT Office organized a safety workshop focused on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for safety data processing and analysis.
The event attracted significant interest, bringing together 40 participants from 23 States, 5 international organizations, and industry stakeholders.

During the workshop, participants discussed ICAO provisions related to safety intelligence and received insights on several key topics, including:
- Initial steps in adopting AI, such as identifying necessary preparations and exploring potential applications
- EUROCAE WG-114 standards on AI in aviation
- Safety data analytics and AI applications in air traffic management (ATM) safety analysis
- The taxonomy of machine learning and its role in developing AI systems
- The limitations of AI when applied to aviation safety data, and
- AI-assisted safety analysis
